Driver Max Profit System

A software engineering course at Washington State University challenged us to build an application for a simulated driver competition. As lead designer and developer, I connected ride data, selection, and map-based visualization in a C# desktop application.

01

Designing around the driver’s decisions

The assignment asked teams to retrieve rides from an instructor-provided database, select and perform them in a simulation, and visualize the work. The final presentation was a 30-minute competition to maximize simulated profit. That made the sequence of decisions central to the application: the data and map needed to support the same task.

02

Bringing data and a desktop interface together

I served as lead designer and developer, using C# and Windows Presentation Foundation for the desktop application. Google Maps and Firebase were central integrations. The design connected those services to the ride-selection workflow so the project’s parts contributed to one application.

03

An early example of systems integration

The result brought ride data, user decisions, and visualization into the coursework simulation. It is an earlier example of the responsibility I now take on in larger systems: design the workflow, implement its parts, and make their connections work together.
